Eating Healthy At Work - You Can Do It!

Eating healthy at work can be a challenge. However, good planning and awareness will go a long way to helping you stay on your diet at work and lose belly fat.

Here are some simple tips to help you make good food choices and maintain healthy eating habits at work.

healthy eating at work

* Above all, eat consciously. Know exactly what foods you are putting in your mouth at work. Know exactly how those foods will affect your body. (Will they work to build lean muscle tissue, or will those calories be stored as flab on your waist and legs?)

* ALWAYS eat a good breakfast. Make sure it includes both a fruit and a good amount of protein. The fiber from the fruit and the metabolism of the protein will satiate your hunger and keep you away from early morning snacks.

* Invest in a quality small (soft-sided) cooler.

* Plan for small snacks and your lunch. Make this a habit. Fresh fruits, crunchy vegetables, and a small amount of nuts make great snacks.

* Your lunch needs to ALWAYS include a fresh fruit, a vegetable, and a solid protein source.

* Stay away from the "Break Room" table. It is way too easy to want to sample the baked goodies brought in each day, especially for birthdays or holidays.

* Stay away from breads and pizza-like foods. DO NOT bring leftovers like these. Yes, they taste good...but the calories go right to your waist and hips.

* Drink plenty of water throughout the day. Drinking water to lose weight is a viable and sensible strategy.

Eating healthy at work does not have to be complicated. Yes, it will take a bit of time to integrate some of these strategies into your daily routine...but your body will love you for it.
